Pr. Jean-Pierre BENOIT, PhD

Pr. Benoît is Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Angers. He is expert in pharmaceutical drug formulation and nanomedicine.   He is currently the director of a 70-strong research team INSERM U1066 (“Micro et Nanomédecines biomimétiques”). He is also a hospital practitioner at the CHU in Angers. He has developed a highly competitive research group at international level, which is involved in the development of strategies for specific targeting of pharmacological molecules for the treatment of several cancers such as glioblastoma, lung and pancreatic cancers.
Among the numerous distinctions that Pr. Benoît has received during his more than 20 years of academic career, he has recently been attributed the PSWC Research Achievement Award in 2010 in New Orleans, from the FIP (International Pharmaceutical Federation) and the Prize of Notoriety from the French National Academy of Pharmacy in 2011. He is the co-founder of Carlina Technologies, a start-up created in 2010 focusing on the development of innovative nanomedicines. He was recently awarded the Croix de Chevalier de la Legion d'Honneur.
He has published more than 320 international publications, about 40 patents and more than 110 contributions at conferences.
